Dongfeng's December showcase in Dubai was not a side event. It was the brand laying out its global expansion plan in front of every regional partner that matters — and Jamaica was named in the Caribbean and Latin America wave.
What was shown
The Dubai stage covered the full passenger lineup with a heavy lean on new-energy: the eπ platform, the Sky PHEV series, and the next-generation pickup architecture. Each was paired with a regional rollout map showing where the model lands first.
The Caribbean and Latin America roll-out was the surprise on the slide: a multi-country rollout starting from Vietnam and Latin America trunk markets, with Jamaica named as a Caribbean entry point.
What it means for Bert's Auto Sales
Being named in the rollout slide is not the same as having stock on the floor — but it does confirm two things we already suspected. First, Dongfeng is treating the Caribbean as a priority market, not a side experiment. Second, the parts and warranty support follows the rollout, which is what makes the dealer relationship sustainable.
Practically, this means our Q3 production order has a clearer commitment behind it than the Q1 sample programme did.
The bigger picture
Dubai was Dongfeng telling the world it intends to be a top-five global brand by volume within the decade. For Jamaica, the practical effect is access to a global parts network and a steadier supply chain than smaller imports get. That is the real value of being on the rollout list.
