After an extended period of due diligence, factory engagement, and a Jamaica-side evaluation programme, Bert's Auto Sales has signed as the authorized Dongfeng dealer for Jamaica. The agreement was executed on May 9, 2026.
How we got here
The conversation started with a long look at the brands shaping the next decade of vehicles for emerging markets. Dongfeng stood out for three reasons: price-to-feature strength in the segments Jamaican buyers actually shop, a real factory parts and warranty framework behind the cars, and a powertrain range — petrol, EV, and PHEV — broad enough to fit this market properly.
Before signing, we put the brand through a Jamaica-side evaluation: a sample fleet on local roads and a structured driver panel scoring the cars against the vehicles Jamaicans already know. The panel's verdict backed the decision — that story is covered in our focus-group report article.
What changes now
Dongfeng warranty service for vehicles we sell will be handled in-house through the Bert's Auto Service Centre, backed by the official parts catalogue with proper lead times. The import programme moves from an evaluation footing to a long-term plan with a multi-year roadmap.

What's next
