Bert's Auto Sales becomes the authorized Dongfeng dealer in Jamaica

September 18, 2025

After more than a year of due diligence, factory visits, and back-and-forth on the dealer agreement, Bert's Auto Sales is officially the authorized Dongfeng dealer for Jamaica.

How we got here

The conversation started in mid-2024 after a long look at the brands shaping the next decade of vehicles for emerging markets. Dongfeng came out on top for three reasons: price-to-feature was strongest in the segments Jamaica buyers actually shop, the parts and warranty network was real, and the dealer-side commitment was specific rather than aspirational.

We then ran a full plant visit, parts logistics audit, and a closed-door evaluation programme before signing the agreement. The signed dealer agreement landed on September 18.

What changes today

Three things change immediately. First, Dongfeng warranty service in Jamaica routes through Bert's Auto Sales rather than third-party. Second, the official parts catalogue is now accessible through us with proper lead times rather than informal-import sourcing. Third, the import programme moves from a pilot footing to a long-term programme with a multi-year roadmap.

Customers who bought Dongfeng vehicles through informal-import channels in the last two years can register their vehicle with us — we'll bring them into the warranty programme where the VIN qualifies.

What's next

The next 90 days are about standing up the service bay, training the first cohort of in-market technicians, and opening the customer-facing showroom space.

We will say it plainly: we expect this to be a multi-year build. We are not interested in shifting fast inventory. We are interested in being the dealer Jamaica drivers actually call back.
