Design
A cube, withthe corners cut off.
Dongfeng calls the grille a Fun Magic Cube, and the shape is honest about what it is: a tall, square, practical car with a bold face. The door handles sit semi flush, the mirrors fold themselves when you lock, the headlamps are adaptive LEDs, and the wheels are 18 inch alloys.

Inside
A cabin witha walk through.
The centre console stops short of the screen on purpose, so a passenger can slide across and step out on the driver's side when a parking space is tight. Underneath it there is room for a handbag, a hidden cup holder, two pull out cup holders and a glasses case. The 12.8 inch screen and 8.88 inch driver display sit high, where you look anyway.

The seats
Made to fita body, not a form.
Dongfeng calls them zero pressure seats. They are shaped to the curve of the back, breathable, and supportive enough that a long drive ends without the ache. Driver and passenger seats are power adjusted.
The front seats fold almost flat, to 176 degrees, and with rest mode the air conditioning, music and seats settle together at one touch. The rear bench splits and folds, with an armrest and cup holders in the middle.

The tailgate
Two doorswhere most cars have one.
The rear window opens on its own, so you can drop a bag in when the car is backed up against a wall or parked in a low garage. Nobody else in this class does it, says Dongfeng, and it traces the idea back to the 1930s.
Open the lower half and it becomes a bench rated to 150 kg, or a table. At the beach, at a match, at a market, it is the seat everyone ends up on.
Space
500 litres, 72 moreyou cannot see, and a bed.
The boot holds 500 litres with a flat floor, and there is a further 72 litre hidden compartment for the things that should not be on show. The 2,715 mm wheelbase, with almost no overhang at either end, gives a space utilisation rate of 67 percent, Dongfeng's figure.
Fold the rear seats and the floor runs flat for two metres, which Dongfeng suggests is for looking at the stars. It is also for a mattress, a fridge, or a surfboard.
Charging and range
Charge in the time it takes to eat lunch.
The 51.87 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery is preheated and direct cooled, and rated by Dongfeng for minus 30 to plus 50 degrees. It fast charges on a CCS2 connector at up to 154 kW, fills overnight at home on a Type 2 wall box at 6.6 kW, and runs appliances the other way through vehicle to load.

Light and quiet
A cabin that glows, and one you can hear yourself in.
A hidden strip of light breathes along the dashboard, and the door panels carry a ripple of ambient light in 128 colours that can pulse with the music. A soft light vanity mirror sits on both sun visors.
Under it all is 8.8 square metres of sound absorbing material at 37 points in the body. With no engine and the electric drive near silent at full power, the loudest thing in the cabin is the conversation.

12.8 inch centre screen.
Full HD, quick to respond, with CarPlay, voice control, Bluetooth and radio. An 8.88 inch digital driver display sits behind the wheel. Wireless phone charging, plus a 60 W Type-C port for the laptop.

Level 2 driver assistance.
Automatic emergency braking for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keeping, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise, and intelligent cruise assist for traffic jams and highways.

360 degree camera.
Four wide angle cameras give a view all round the car, front and rear radar cover the corners, and direct tyre pressure monitoring watches all four wheels.

The cover beyond 5 years or 150,000 km, and the powertrain beyond 8 years or 200,000 km, is Dongfeng’s extended warranty. It is for the first owner, in private use, with every scheduled service done on time at Bert's Service Centre with genuine parts. Wear and tear parts keep their basic terms. Full conditions are in the warranty agreement supplied with the vehicle.
