Design
Sculptedby nature.
Dongfeng calls the grille the Storm Torrent and the headlamps the Eye of the Hurricane: full LED, daylight white at 5000 K, and lighting the road 180 metres ahead. One light bar runs the full width of the tail. Nineteen inch alloys, a power tailgate and concealed twin exhausts are standard.

Inside
A cabin that wrapsaround you.
Eighty two percent of the surfaces you touch are soft, 8.84 square metres of them, in Nappa textured trim. The dashboard flows in one line from door to door, the air vent runs right through it, and seven colours of ambient light sit behind it all. A 12.3 inch centre screen and a 7 inch driver display carry the information.

Inside
Seats built forlong Sundays.
The driver's seat adjusts six ways electrically, is ventilated for Jamaican afternoons, and has lumbar support. The passenger seat adjusts four ways and adds a leg rest.
Dongfeng widened the door armrests to fit an elbow properly and raised the centre armrest to meet them, which is the kind of detail you only notice on a two hour drive. In the back, a 60:40 split bench reclines, with a centre armrest and cup holders.

Space
Big space isthe whole point.
The Huge is 4,720 mm long and 1,910 mm wide, on a 2,825 mm wheelbase. Wheelbase is what decides rear legroom, and Dongfeng says this one leads its class. Five seats, and a rear sofa with room to stretch.
Fold the rear seats and the load space grows to 1,606 litres. The 52 litre tank, at 6.99 litres per 100 km, is a theoretical 740 km between fills.

Light and quiet
A roof you can see through,in a cabin you can hear yourself in.
A 1.17 square metre panoramic roof covers both rows, the largest among the cars Dongfeng benchmarks it against, with a heat insulated sunblind for when the sun is straight overhead.
The cabin is engineered to 36 decibels of noise reduction. Wind, road and engine are tuned out, so a conversation at highway speed is a conversation, not a shout.

The powertrain
A small engine, and a big one at the same time.

Mach Power 1.5T.
Dongfeng's C15TDR was named one of China's ten best engines in 2020. It makes 150 kW at 5,200 rpm and holds 305 Nm from 2,000 to 4,000 rpm, the band you actually drive in.

Seven speed wet dual clutch.
The 7DCT300, a gearbox that has collected its own awards, shifts quickly and quietly and sends the power to the front wheels.

Three modes, eight power levels.
Sport, Eco and Normal, plus eight steps of power in between, chosen on the screen. Eco keeps the fuel bill down in Kingston traffic; Sport is for the Junction road.
Built to last
A steel fortress, in Dongfeng's words.
The A pillars, B pillars and door beams are made of 2,000 MPa hot formed steel, developed with Baosteel and applied here across the largest area in its class. The body is laser welded, at 3.6 times the strength of spot welding.

The cover beyond 5 years or 150,000 km, and the powertrain beyond 8 years or 200,000 km, is Dongfeng’s extended warranty. It is for the first owner, in private use, with every scheduled service done on time at Bert's Service Centre with genuine parts. Wear and tear parts keep their basic terms. Full conditions are in the warranty agreement supplied with the vehicle.
