Dongfeng started life in 1969 as China's Second Automobile Manufacturing Plant - the country's answer to the need for a domestic, mass-scale vehicle producer. Five decades later, it sits inside the global top ten by volume and operates as a fully integrated automotive group: R&D, assembly, parts, finance, and exports.
