Why itmatters.
The Z9 is a large, body-on-frame double-cab pickup: 5,520 mm long on a 3,300 mm wheelbase. Its 2.3 litre turbo-diesel makes 140 kW and 500 Nm through a ZF 8-speed automatic, and a 2.0 litre turbo petrol is also offered. With up to 1,175 kg of payload, 240 mm of ground clearance and 800 mm wading depth, it is built for work all week and rough tracks at the weekend.

Diesel with an 8-speed automatic
A 2.3 litre turbo-diesel with 140 kW and 500 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic. A 2.0 litre turbo petrol is also offered.

Built for rough roads
240 mm ground clearance, 800 mm wading depth, 31 and 26 degree approach and departure angles, and 100 percent gradeability.

Three locking differentials
More than 12 driving modes, three differential locks and a tank turn mode for tight spots.

Carries and tows
Up to 1,175 kg payload on the commercial manual, a 1,520 × 1,600 × 550 mm load bed, and 3,000 kg of towing on the Ecuador specification (over 3.5 tonnes per Dongfeng's Chile launch).

Designed to C-NCAP 5-star standards, with 97 percent high-strength steel in the frame and an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold.

Plug-in hybrid in China
In China the Z9 is also sold as a plug-in hybrid: a 1.5 litre turbo with electric drive, up to 320 kW and up to 135 km on electric power (CLTC).
