Why itmatters.

The Taishan X8 is the five-seat member of the Taishan family, sold in China. It is a little shorter than the Taishan, at 5,200 mm, and gives its space to two rows: a 1,148 L boot, and a rear that turns into a 2.1 m bed at one touch with the accessory mattress. Unlike the Taishan, it comes as a plug-in hybrid or fully electric.

6.1 square metres of cabin floor, and a 1,148 L boot that grows to 2,361 L.

Bed in one touch

A zero-gravity right-hand second-row seat, and a one-touch mode that turns the rear into a 2.1 m bed with the accessory mattress.

Tight-turn agility

Rear-wheel steering of up to 16 degrees and three-chamber air suspension with 105 mm of travel, on every version except the 45 kWh plug-in hybrid.

Four lidars

Huawei driver assistance with lidar. The Electric has an 896-line lidar, three solid-state lidars and 34 sensors in total; on the plug-in hybrids the lidar varies by version.

Rear cinema and sound

A 21.4-inch 3K roof screen and 29-speaker VOYAH Sound (the 45 kWh plug-in hybrid has 23 speakers and no roof screen).

Hybrid or electric

A plug-in hybrid with up to 370 km on electricity and 1,506 km in total, or an Electric with up to 727 km (all CLTC).
